The Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore is a truly awesome superbike. It has set new extreme standards in the sector achieving a weight reduction of 10KG and an increase in power by 25HP and we don’t have to rely on Ducati’s word to accept that it is a winner. Last year it was voted ‘Best motorcycle of 2012’ by one of Europe’s best selling magazines ‘Motorrad’ following a reader survey.
So, if the Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore is the best bike in Europe, we want it here of course, but what about those colours?
The ‘Tricolore’ is reference to the Italian flag and it certainly looks great (we wholly respect this ‘oh worshipful masters of superbikes’), but hey Ducati! With a little tweaking (swap your tomato red for our spicy saffron) it will also look great on the Indian roads in our colours. What about the ‘Tiranga’? Coincidentally our flag (which even features an ‘eternal wheel of progress’) was designed by a freedom fighter named ‘Pingale’, which gives us a final, wholly appropriate renaming of this wonderful bike for the Indian market – The Ducati 1199 Pingale S Tiranga! (just an idea..)
